Bringing a website on the first page of Google is not a piece of cake and with Google’s algorithms keeping a keen eye on your content and every step that you make, it is a lot harder than one thinks. Google has several algorithms that check every move of the campaign in order to make sure that search results are relevant to the quest of the user. If it finds any suspicious activity taking place then it can block the website or the campaign and recovery from that could be very troublesome or in some cases impossible.

Now, we’ll understand about one of the most talked algorithm- Penguin algorithm. SEO and digital marketing companies must know that it checks the quality of the links in order to rank the website among the top results and backlinks lie on the top of the to-check list. If they are from the trusted resources, if they come from multiple domains, if they are enveloped by the content similar to your page, and last but not least they are directing the similar concept as that of yours then, Penguin gives them an A and automatically the campaign moves in the positive direction.

We have covered what Penguin does but let’s see what can adversely affect it,

1. Low-quality links- The algorithm will drop the site low if the content surroundings the content is not relevant.

2. Unusual keyword stuffing- Google algorithms are smarter than one can think of. If you try to play smart by stuffing many keywords in the sentence without it making any sense then this will only lead up to annoying the Penguin.

3. Bought links- Not many SEO service providers know this but paying for the links to use them in the campaign is against the guidelines of the Google Webmaster.

4. Use of similar anchor tags– Any algorithm of Google supports diversity more than anything else. The use of similar anchor tags inside every backlink can call for redundancy and upset the Penguin algorithm.

SEO companies must take care of certain primary things while carrying out the campaign so as to prevent the domain from getting blacklisted. Keeping content diverse and relevant can enhance the efficiency of the campaign.

Be different! Be on top!
